I think the only reason anyone has a complaint about 55 builds is because of how effective is. People don't like seeing other people with 55 monks getting money so quickly, so they automatically search for universal effects it might have on the game as a whole. In all honesty, how much does the average player get touched by 55 phenomenon?

I dunno if this has anything to do with this but, I saw "Ectos" and I also saw "Price Dropping" and I though that I saw "But it hasn't happened yet" Well um.. Buzy, Ectos have dropped about 2k in the past month and at Christmas time or w/e holiday you celebrate they were 11k @ Trader, that is a very big drop Same with Black Dyes and most other Craft Materials such as Ob Shards.

Never really bothered me really. Sometimes I sell the -50 offhand to somebody for 10k or less. In fact, I've been pondering setting up my monk that way off and on. Also, it was kind of interesting to see some other 55's in action, necros and monks. I don't really see how it affects anything, and in alot of ways I think it's rather kind of cool. Only time I thought it was lame, was when I couldn't ressurect a 55 necro in tombs, but he did a great job on orders.

I fully agree, 55hp monks are the same as IWAY teams used to be in pvp. A one trick pony that uses an exploit to win rather than skill.
To all those defending the 55....I truly look forward to the day this is nerfed, then you guys might actually have to use some skill whilst playing UW.

poor 55ers taking the blame for all the farming just because they are the most known farming build. like has been said taking the item out won't stop the farmers they can still farm with the same build. I always wonder when people were complaining about the griffons and all the monks farming them they never said anything about the w/mo farmers. IMO it was easier as a w/mo to farm the griffons then a monk. I like the warrior farmer over the monk one anyways it's far cheaper and easier to make one and you can pretty much do all the things a 55er can do. The 55er just gets all the attention because they are the most known. Rangers can solo UW just like monks and so can warriors and those are just the ones i know 100% for sure. I never hear about anyone complaining about the warrior solo FoW farmers but still people whinning about the monk UW farmers. If you are gonna come down hard on solo farmers just come down hard on all of them
BTW Hunter Sharparrow if u can't do mission with hench your just a bad pve player. If you actually believe people "hack" to beat missions with hench pls do a search on these boards there are tons of screen shots of people beating Hell, THK, and all ascension missions. I myself beat the last 6 missions and the desert ones with hench. Use that neato search function on the forums and see how riduclously easy it is to play this game with hench.

The 55 monk HAS been nerfed already, several months ago. There's no real need to nerf it further, it's not actually any more efficient at farming trolls than an axe warrior, and it needs a SS necro to farm the UW (meaning the SS necro get half the drops).
What's needed, though, is more mixed mobs, ie not huge groups of just melee enemies. Especially not close to towns.
As far as doing mish with henchies... give me a break. It's easy. I've never bothered taking screenies of me finishing missions with henches, because it's common knowledge that one can do it. I do however have a screenie of me finishing the High Priest Alkar quest with henchies, because people were saying it couldn't be done:

Skill has nothing to do with the fact I play this game for fun. I get a lot of fun playing as a 55 and solo or duo UW. Some people are more skilled than others. Using the same logic, you can say: I have enough of all those skilled players, remove them from the game cause they're imba, the game and competition is too easy for them. Accepting things in life as they are can be very satisfying.
Darkganni is right about henchies though, you can complete every mission with them.

Make it even harder for the groups of 8 that go down there.. cool.. the drops are already nerved in UW to an extend which leads me to believe that the only reason to go down there in a full group is to explore the place, it most definatly IS NOT to have any type of income.

Man.. if I last more than 10 mins farming, I'm doing well.. can you show me a place where I can farm excessivly in that timeframe? (ok, ettin farming lasts about 20 mins, but its very, very boring)

That's IF you got the game at the beginning and played UW before the first nerf. How is the average player going to get the 4mil crafting materials needed for that armor without farming these days? Sure, you can go UW, you can clear the place.. and 5 hours later, you've managed to get a single ecto, the most gotten in your team is 3.. that's.. 5 hours for about 1 ecto in a full team vs 10-20 mins farming for the amount of gold to buy an ecto.
Oh yeah.. after finishing the game with my monk, i finally got around to making her capable of 55 monking. Gotta say though, I far prefer my mesmer for farming.

BAH! Yet another 55Hp monk whine thread.
If ANET gets rid of the -50Hp off hand item, it doesn't bother me. I tend to farm UW in duo ranger trapping teams anyway. Not super fast, but I find it more fun and leisurely.
After the 55 builds are gone, I wonder who the whiners will target next just to have some fulfilment to their life?
As for missions with henchmen, it's pretty easy...alot easier than with pugs anyway. For a majority of missions and quests, I've done with one other plus heanchmen. Otherwise, it's been two man teams (no henchmen) or myself with henchmen. I've been all over the Crystal Desert and Southern Shiverpeak with just henchmen as well.

Well when you go with all henchies and one of them dies so both the protector and healer stop helping the rest just to rez the one dead which is usually the Ele or Necro leaving the rest to die. They need serious improvement. I'm also not talking about just every mission, I'm talking about every bonus and quest in the game too. Dunes of Despair is a good one, leave the hero to do the bonus and the hero will die.

Ah, you want to do bonus and mission AT THE SAME TIME. Yeah, that's sometimes hard with henches, as you can't split the team. Not the same as "not able to do missions unless you're a haxx0r" though, like you originally claimed.

That would be Thirsty River. Two entirely different missions.
Edit: I see you changed it just as I hit the button.
